Glenthorne is located about 200 yards North of the village green on Easedale Road.

By bus or coach: The centre of Grasmere is served by the 555 service from Lancaster to Keswick and by the 599 service from Windermere. National Express operate a daily service from around the country with a drop-off at the far end of the village.

By Rail: Via Oxenholme, on the main West Coast line, or direct from Manchester to Windermere; onward bus connection or taxi to Grasmere.
